William Baker

I didn't date very much in high school - but I'll never forget the great time I had with Bill Baker. He took me to the ZOO. He seemed to know a lot about the animals and as we walked along he annotated a whole litany of information about their habits and characteristics. I was impressed. There was one animal I had never heard of before. He pronounced it - a Feeding Sha-doo-lee. It looked a lot like a giraffe to me but I figured he knew more than I did. Further down the path I glimpsed a portion of a zoo sign. Seeing just a glimpse of the writing, I blurted out, "hey Bill, is that gorilla-looking animal another Feeding She-doo-lee? " Sure enough, as we got closer to the sign, it was evident that rather than Feeding She-doo-lee, the sign spelled out "Feeding Schedule" To this day, I hunt with glee for more Feeding She-doo-lees and think again about the wonderful funny time I had with Bill Baker. Thanks Bill.

Barbie was my best friend during our high school years. She succumbed to MS in the late 1980's but I still think of her today. I miss her and wish I could see her again. It is hard to reconcile that such a free spirit is no longer here.

Nancy White (Chwastiak)

Obituary:
Nancy C. White, 80, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

Nancy was born in Evanston, IL, on March 11, 1944. Her father, William Chwastiak was an Austrian Immigrant, who married her mother, Sophia Stanko. She had one sister, Mary Ann Chwastiak. All of whom are deceased. Nancy graduated “Class of 1962” from Evanston High School and went on to study and graduated from several colleges with a Bachelor’s Degree at TCU. Nancy married and divorced having two children: Patrick Tyson and Kurt William who were later adopted by her second husband, CDR. Richard D. White, USN. Kurt William White is deceased.

Giving M. D. Anderson credit for saving her life and Power by God, Nancy was a 9-year Lung Cancer survivor and miracle. Nancy was an Educator, Writer, Ballet Dancer, Painter, Knitter and an Organizer. She attended Perdido Bay United Methodist Church and was a friend to many people. She loved her dog “Hans” and will be missed by anyone who ever met her smile.

Survivors include son Patrick Tyson White and Richard D. White; children as their family’s blended, Sonya Yvonne White, Richard D. White, Jr., and Sheri White Fought. Nancy had grandchildren that she never really got to see, Vera Kurt Meyakina in Russia and Chase James in Georgia, USA both fathered by her son, Kurt William White.

Nancy’s wishes were to be cremated, and her ashes be place with her husband at Barrancas National Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her true friends and helpers Cheri Loveless and Ernie and Anna Westwood, both at Nancy’s beckoning and call.

Dear Friend and Family, I want to let you know I have received a call from God who informed me that my new home is ready and I could move immediately. You know that have been sending up timber, and packing up and getting ready to go, but there were some final touches needed. Well my new home is finished and it is such a beautiful sight: Behold it is located in an exclusive estate, and it sits behind the pearly gates of course the streets are paved with gold. And every day is Sunday. I have lived in many places before but none can compare. There is peace, joy, and happiness here, and there is no more pain there is sweet serenity everywhere I can go on and on about my new home but I have to get fitted for my new robes. I looking forward to seeing you, with all my. Let me give you my new address
